The yellow tradition

This architectural project is a serene farmhouse nestled on the outskirts of Pune, drawing inspiration from the traditional homes of Maharashtra. The design features iconic pitched roofs clad with Mangalore tiles, long shaded verandahs that invite outdoor living, and a strong connection to nature through a central courtyard that becomes the heart of the home. Accentuated by yellow protruding blocks, the composition brings a playful yet grounded contrast to the otherwise earthy material palette. The structure is a humble ground-plus-one configuration, balancing vernacular sensibilities with contemporary spatial planning.
